JR’s Country Store
Stop by JR's Country Store to enjoy fresh-made pizza with your choice
of toppings. Located at the junction
of Highways 96 and 71, JR’s is a regional convenience store
with a restaurant attached. The truck stop style dinner affords the
same style of food one might find at any other truck stop across the
southwestern United States with the exception of fresh baked, made
to order pizza. Up to ten toppings are the same price. Better yet,
the second pizza and every one thereafter is discounted. A large soft
serve vanilla, chocolate or twist ice cream cone is also a nice way
to cool off on a warm summer’s eve.

Kiki’s Place
Nestled away in the sleepy
community of Olney Springs lies a gem. Kiki’s Place offers American
cuisine and sandwiches in a laid back environment. As the attentive
staff prepares your order be sure to look around. The original high
crown molding and the historic black and white photos are sure to
delight the historically curious individual. Rumored to have
provided questionable “beverages” and even gambling services during
the days of Prohibition the building now provides a more “fitting”
establishment. For the chocolate connoisseur think of delectable
meal as a mere warm up act for the symphony sure to follow when you
order one of her regionally recognized chocolate brownies.
Open Monday thru Saturday 10:30AM to 8:00PM

Martin’s On Main
Located on Main Street in Ordway,
Martin’s on Main provides the hungry traveler and local epicures
alike a delightful experience. Although funnel cakes are not on the
menu, practically everything else is. Burgers, pizza, Gyros,
Tex-Mex, and BBQ have flavors which may remind you of some of
summer’s finest delights. Owners Tonya and Jeff Martin settled in
the community after years of feeding the hungry masses at carnivals
and County and State Fairs across the southwest. Regionally
cultivated vegetables; homemade buns, soups, and pies; and friendly
staff are just the beginning at Martin’s on Main. If you take the
time to visit with Tonya she may share tales of the building’s gory
past, or inform you of the ghostly experiences and sightings which
have become part of Ordway’s colorful past.

Sugar City Cafe
Just a skip and a jump from some of the best bird
viewing in the area, the Sugar City Cafe is known
for its great food and homemade cinnamon rolls. Once home to Sugar
City’s grocery store, this location has served as a restaurant since
the 1950’s. In fact, it seems as though little has changed in the
last 50 to 60 years. The daily special is sure to satisfy even
the hungriest of appetites, while the hamburgers and homemade cream
pies may stir up fond memories of years gone by. Come for the
food. Stay for the atmosphere and the amazingly affordable prices.
